Beat The Habit Permanently – Find fresh Ways To give up Smoking

For anyone who has ever been a smoker, they may be aware of the old saying: “Once a smoker, always a smoker.” This is accurate because smoking, being a highly habit-forming habit and makes it twice as hard for smokers end the habit for good as ithe addiction is both a physical and mental addiction in the body. And being such a detrimental habit to one’s health, it is now very much as anti-social habit in many places in society. But for those who have tried and have been unable to quit for good shouldn’t give up and conceive that they’re going to be a smoker for life - as there are now a lot more ways to stop smoking than ever before, and a lot of of them are right at their fingertips.

Choices Galore!

There are a rare few who can quit smoking without some kind of aid or support. And though it is true that the outcome for a smoker to quit completely lies with the choice of smoker themselves, it does not mean that there aren’t a number of ways to make this decision a lot easier. Today, there are more ways to stop smoking than ever, and some of these include: pills, gum, nicotine patches, herbal remedies, treatments (such as acupuncture and hypnotism), help-lines, and counseling services and books. However, before any of these treatments can come into play, the decision has to start with you.

Quitting: It’s All In The Preparation and Planning

Anyone who has a job or task to do will plan what they are going to do first in order to succeed and do it right. This is no different for smoking. If you are serious about quitting for good, the best way to stop smoking is to plan out what you are going to do, decide why you are going to do it, and how you are going to handle things when the going gets tough. Because like overcoming any habit, quitting smoking is not an easy thing to do, and the better the plan you have, the better chance you’ll have in succeeding.

Before you start, get a “Quit” pack together. This might include products such as diary, items to help reduce or distract you from your cravings, a list of friends that you can call when you need support, and a list of reasons to remind yourself why you want to quit smoking – be it for health, family or money reasons. These types of things will help you deal with situations as they arrive, and will keep you on track for where you want to be long-term – smoke free.

Preparation is the best way to stop smoking because it will set you up for a change of life-style, not just a change of mind. Tell as many people that you can that you’re planning to quit so that you have an abundance of support that you are able to fall back on, and set up some kind of reward to offer yourself at certain milestones with the success of your quit plan. For instance once you have been smokeless for a week, a month, 3 months and so on, with the money that you’ve saved that you would have normally spent on cigarettes, you may allow yourself a trip away or a shopping exhibition. The best way to stop smoking it to find a way to make the choice worth your while, so that you have a reason to persist with it - even when your body and mind scream otherwise!

Five Simple Stop Smoking Tips

There’s no doubt that smoking is harmful to almost all organs of the human body and is the cause of many diseases, and it contributes to the deterioration in the health of smokers in general. There are many immediate as well as long term benefits to quitting smoking for both the smoker and his or her near and dear ones. A lot of research has been done on how best to quit smoking and these simple five stop smoking tips would be very helpful for smokers wishing to give up their bad habit.

Get Ready, Find Support And Encouragement, And More

The first stop smoking tip would be for the smoker to get ready to quit and set a date by which to quit smoking. A change in environment would be helpful, and in this regard, it is necessary to get rid of all cigarettes as well as ashtrays in the home, car, as well as place of work. The smoker should also discourage others from smoking around him or her. Once one has succeeded in quitting smoking, he or she should never ever take another puff.

The second stop smoking tip is to get support as well as encouragement from friends, family, co-workers as well as health care providers. According to studies conducted on this aspect of quitting smoking, it has been found that a person has a better chance of quitting smoking if he or she gets support from others as well as takes individual, group or telephone counseling.

The third stop smoking tip is to learn new skills as well as behaviors and try to distract the self from urges to smoke. In this regard, going for walks, or talking to someone or being busy with different tasks and a change in routine would certainly help to quit smoking. Substituting coffee with tea and eating breakfast in different places would also help, and so will doing other things to reduce stress.

The fourth stop smoking tip is to get medication and use it in the proper manner. Medications will help to stop smoking and will lessen the urge to smoke in smokers, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has given its nod to seven medications that help to stop smoking. One can also seek and obtain advice from a health care provider and carefully read the information contained on the different medications. The chances are that these medications can double the success rate when it comes to quitting smoking.

The fifth stop smoking tip one can try is being prepared for relapses as well as other difficulties. A relapse will usually occur within three months immediately after quitting, and one should not be discouraged if one begins to start smoking again. It may take several attempts before one can finally quit smoking, and one should take care to avoid alcohol consumption, not hang around with other smokers, expect to gain weight, and suffer bad moods as well as depression.

Beat The Habit For Good – Find New Ways To Stop Smoking

For anyone who has ever been a smoker, they may be well aware of the old saying: “Once a smoker, always a smoker.” This is true as smoking, being a highly addictive habit, is made twice as hard for quitters to end the habit for good as the addiction is both a physical and psychological addiction in the body. And being such a detrimental habit to one’s health, it is now very much as anti-social habit in many places in society. But for those who have tried and have been unable to quit for good shouldn’t give up and believe that they are going to be a smoker for life - as there are now more ways to stop smoking than ever before, and many are right at their fingertips.

Options Galore!

Quitting: It’s All In The Preparation

Anyone who has a job or task to do will plan what they are going to do first in order to succeed and do it right. This is no different for smoking. If you are serious about quitting for good, the best way to stop smoking is to plan out what you are going to do, decide why you are going to do it, and how you are going to handle things when the going gets tough. Because like overcoming any habit, quitting smoking is not an easy thing to do, and the better the plan you have, the better chance you’ll have in succeeding.

Before you start, get a “Quit” pack together. This could include items such as a diary, items to help reduce or distract you from your cravings, a list of friends that you can call when you need support, and a list of reasons to remind yourself why you want to quit smoking – be it for health, family or money reasons. These types of things will help you deal with situations as they arrive, and will keep you on track for where you want to be long-term – smoke free.

Planning is the best way to quit smoking as it will set you up for a change of lifestyle, not just a change of idea. Tell as many people that you can that you are planning to quit so that you have an abundance of support that you can fall back on, and set up some kind of reward to offer yourself at certain milestones with the success of your quit plan. For instance once you’ve been smoke-free for a week, a month, 3 months and so on, with the money that you’ve saved that you would have normally spent on cigarettes, you may allow yourself a trip away or a shopping exhibition. The best way to stop smoking it to find a way to make the choice worth your while, so that you have a reason to persist with it - even when your body and mind scream otherwise!

Smoking is one of the most addictive and detrimental habits to one’s health known to man. The long-term effects of smoking can result in illness and reduce the chance of living a healthy and happy life. However deadly, people can find quitting the habit a very difficult thing to do. Which is why there has been such an emphasis on researching new methods and products to help quitters kick the habit for good. One of these options that smokers can try is by the use of acupuncture. Using acupuncture to stop smoking may not work for everyone, as the results of it vary somewhat between the sources, however for some it may well be the support they need to help cut the habit for good.

How Acupuncture Works

The use of acupuncture to stop smoking works by helping to reduce the smoker’s physical cravings for tobacco. It also works by lessening the withdrawal symptoms of smoking by releasing a sedative effect on the nervous system. Beta-endorphin, being a natural hormone in the body which causes physical relaxation as well reducing the sensitivity to pain, is also released during the treatment. This particular hormone (beta-endorphin) is part of the physical mechanism which makes it possible for smokers to quit - and quit for good.

What Happens During Acupuncture Treatment

Using acupuncture to stop smoking requires a number of treatments for it to fully work. Acupunctural treatments usually last on average for about 30 minutes and work by inserting needles into particular points on the body including the ear, hand and wrists to release a calming and healing effect on the body. Sometimes a mild electrical current is passed through these needles to augment the effect. “Ear-tags” (being very small retainer needles) are also inserted into the ear to remain there for a few days in order to exert a constant stimulus to special points so help reduce the smoker’s withdrawal symptoms.

The number of treatments required depends greatly on the practitioner as well as the extent of the smoker’s habit. However, a typical acupuncture program will consist of around 3 treatments in the first week, with 2 treatments following these up in the second week. To promote long-term quitting, the occasional follow-up treatments are usually recommended over the following 2-3 months of the initial treatment.

The Pros Of Using Acupuncture

One of the pros of using acupuncture to stop smoking is that clients tend to find weight-gain less likely to be a side-effect normally associated with the quitting of smoking as the acupunctural points used treat the craving for nicotine tend to also reduce the craving for food. As well as this, acupuncture can also be used as a treatment for other disorders and illnesses such as addiction to drugs (legal or illegal), chronic pain, injuries, chronic fatigue, headaches, depression, stress disorders, insomnia, allergies and many others. Although it may not work for everyone, as much of the result of the quitting of smoking lies with the smoker themselves, using acupuncture to stop smoking may be the answer for some as it can certainly be a huge support and asset for those who want to give it their best shot.

Quitting smoking is very difficult for most people. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance that causes both physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms when it is taken away. Some people choose nicotine replacement therapy as a method of giving up cigarettes, while others choose to eliminate nicotine from their lives completely. Some people use herbal remedies to quit smoking. There are a variety of herbs that may be useful when trying to give up nicotine.

One of the most surprising remedies for those giving up cigarettes is oat tincture. Oats are packed with therapeutic alkaloids which may impart a calming effect. For the mental and physical anxiety which comes with nicotine withdrawal, herbs such as passionflower and valerian may help calm the nerves. Kava kava is a popular anti-anxiety herb but there is some controversy surrounding it as recent studies have shown it may have an adverse effect on liver function. If you experience mild depression during your quit, St. John’s Wort may be helpful.

Lobelia is a common herb used for smoking cessation. Lobelia contains a substance which affects the body like nicotine but is not addictive like nicotine. Some people switch from their regular cigarettes to Indian tobacco, which does not contain nicotine. Others choose nicotine-free cigarettes made with a variety of aromatic herbs. It is important to understand that nicotine-free cigarettes are by no means safe.

Any time you inhale smoke into your lungs, you are taking a risk. If you want the feel of smoking without actually doing it, there are smokeless, nicotine free cigarettes which impart a cinnamon or mint flavor when puffed on. You don’t light them, but use them for pretend smoking which can calm the nerves while you’re quitting. To help repair the lungs and remove buildup from years of smoking, herbs like mullein, horehound and slippery elm can provide some benefit when taken as a lozenge or tea.

These days, you will find many herbal remedies to quit smoking packaged and advertised most everywhere. CigArrest and SmokeRX are examples of products which take a natural approach. These products usually come with homeopathic or herbal remedies, vitamins, motivational reading materials and instructional CDs or DVDs. By using safe and effective herbs as part of your cigarette cessation program, you can increase your chances of success.

What was once considered a cool and sophisticated habit has now turned into public enemy number one. You can’t turn on television these days without someone pontificating about the evils of smoking.

The non smokers are now the big majority and you know what this means. Most likely it translates to a lot of annoyed individuals. You see, when you’re not a smoker yourself, you have no sympathy for those who do light up. Good thing there is excellent smoking cessation therapy available now days. The rest of you avid smokers are going to need it. This nasty habit is being kicked out!

It makes total sense to consider smoking cessation therapy in this day and age. You can actually get injections that curb your cravings for a month at a time. Now that’s kicking the habit! It’s not just about nicotine patches and chewing gum anymore. <city w:st="on">

<place w:st="on">Battle</place></city> away those nicotine urges with modern technology. What other choice do you really have? Let me recap the benefits of smoking and the downside.

Okay, there are no benefits.

However, there are plenty of drawbacks to motivate you. Number one; smoking kills and utterly destroys your health and body as you age. Number two; imagine how much cash you lose to your cigarette habit. Number three; it stains your teeth and leaves you with bad breath. And finally, smoking ages you far too quickly. Talk about premature lines and wrinkles. Smoking destroys the collagen in your face and leaves you looking like a prune.

Find smoking cessation therapy that truly works for you and the level of your addiction. Kick that foul habit before it kicks you off of the primordial coil. Out of all the smokers I’ve known, their lives improved dramatically after they quit smoking. More money, better health, more energy, less health dilemmas! Go ahead and begin a new-age smoking cessation therapy process today. Your future depends on it. It’s time to live life to the fullest!
